History of HSHI

  • 2018
    • Delivered LNG powered tanker first time in the world.
    • Completed the world’s first VLCC equipped with SOx scrubber
    • Succeeded in setting Sewol ferry upright
  • 2017
    • Secured a deal for six LNG fuelled tankers first time in the world.
    • Selected as “Significant Ships” two vessels (10,500 TEU containership & 159K crude oil tanker)
    • Selected as “World Class Products of KOREA” for LPG carrier newly.
    • Established the joint venture with Zvezda shipyard in Russia.
    • Succeeded in KRW 400 billion investment from Korea-based IMM Private Equity
  • 2016
    • Achieved 60 million DWT in shipbuilding
    • Completion of construction of Panama Canal facilities(Valves)
    • Three types of vessels selected World Class Products (18,800 TEU containership,
      15,000 TEU containership, 174,000 CBM LNG carrier)
  • 2015
    • 500 ships constructed
    • Two types of ships named the Best Ships of the Year (9,000 TEU containership & 8,000
      unit car carrier)
    • 9,000 TEU containership named the Eco-Friendly Ship of the Year by the Maritime and
      Port Authority of Singapore
    • 10,000 ton-capacity floating crane delivered
    • FPU hull delivered
    • Two types of vessels designated the World Class Products by the Korean government
      (VLCC, LNG carrier)

    • Named as the Best Company for Shared Growth with SMEs
    • International energy management certificate ISO 50001 acquired
    • Best rating assigned in safety & public health evaluation
